Thank you Mum for giving birth to me in such a gentle way.
Without you, I don’t know if I’d be so enthusiastic about giving life.
You’ve inspired me to ask myself:
“Maybe there is another way?”
“Is hospital a good place to welcome my precious newborn?”
“What if I want privacy?”
I’m proud of my Mum who, despite family criticism, did all the research about natural birth. My sister and I were born at Pithiviers. This is where the famous Michel Odent introduced gentle birth in France in the 80s. Then he moved to London to spread the word about homebirth, respecting babies and mum’s bodies.
Without my Mum, I wouldn’t have been able to give birth at home with an (independent) midwife.
Rachel was born in water in my kitchen on a warm and sweet night
My little bundle of joy
