LanaCare is a Danish company established by Jeannette Almstrøm, a Danish nurse, in 1990.
LanaCare has chosen to exclusively use KBT-cartified yarn, which fulfils the highest demands made on an organic woolen yarn. This certificate means that the sheep/lamb must not be exposed to mulesing, and that the yarn/wool must not be exposed to any kind of harmful chemicals. KBT means Controlled biological animal breeding. KBT is the strictest certificate for organic wool. The yarn is spunned in Germany by the most wellknown and highly acknolegded company: Richter.
All LanaCare wool clothes have been laboratory-tested negative for house dust-mites and are therefore particularly suitable for children with allergy.
The light grey and light brown colours of the baby balaclavas come from natural dyes which approved by the German standards. Germany has the most strict rules about chemicals in the world. So LanaCare wool layette is truly 100% chemicals free.
“A newborn baby needs her mother’s love, her mother’s milk, and clothes that promotes growth and well-being at a temperature that allows the body to grow, without chemicals, dry and warm.”
-Jeannette Almstrøm, Nurse in Denmark and founder of LanaCare
